Calling All Coffee Lovers

I don’t usually treat myself, but a Starbuck’s iced coffee was calling my name this afternoon. So with coffee on the brain, both literally and figuratively, I started thinking about all of the ways we prepare to deliver that perfect shot of caffeine into our bloodstream. I think all coffee lovers are attached to their favorite way of making it, however, it is nice to consider other ideas every once in awhile. So here I brought together the perfect coffee paraphernalia you might want to try.

Martha Stewart's wicked cool coffee corner makes snagging a cup at the corner store blasphemy.

Follow the suit with the Europeans and try a French Press. This one from Gevalia turns out rich (and extra strength) coffee for two. This is my favorite way to enjoy a jolt of caffeine.

The Remodelista recently featured the Chemex on her blog. This is definitely on my list to try. It is a sophisticated, yet inexpensive, way to enjoy your cup of jo.

From the Chemex website, “The Chemex Coffeemaker was invented in 1941 by Dr. Peter Schlumbohm PhD. Made simply from non-porous, borosilicate glass and fastened with a wood collar and tie, it brews coffee without imparting any flavors of its own. On permanent display at MOMA NY and other fine museums, it is truly a work of art.”

This makes a terrific addition to your coffee bar, to use with both the French Press and the Chemex. It’s touted as a “truly elegant way to boil two quarts of water.” The silicone tipped "steam stopper" leads steam up and out while the neck remains cool enough to function as a handle.

Bialetti Mukka Glass Stovetop Cappuccino Maker
Apparently, coffee brewing in Italy was revolutionized in 1933, when Alfonso Bialetti created his iconic stovetop espresso maker. This particular model is made exclusively for Williams and Sonoma.

DeLonghiESAM3300 Magnifica Super-Automatic Espresso/Coffee Machine
Its price tag may be high, but you could pay for it in a year by quitting those drive bys at Starbucks. This particular model is capable of preparing espresso, coffee, cappuccino and latte drinks. Its super-automatic machine features a unique beans-to-brew system that grinds coffee beans right before brewing for exceptionally aromatic espresso.
